Public hearings into healthcare funding to resume Monday
The Special Commission of Inquiry into Healthcare Funding will resume its public hearings on Monday, 15 April 2024.
The Special Commission of Inquiry into Healthcare Funding will resume its public hearings on Monday, 15 April 2024, at 10am at the Chief Secretary’s Building, Level 2, 121 Macquarie Street, Sydney. The hearings will be livestreamed on the Inquiry’s website.
The public hearings provide an opportunity for the Inquiry to hear from a wide range of witnesses, including representatives from the public sector, healthcare representative bodies, service providers and community members.
In this block of hearings, the Inquiry will gather evidence about governance and accountability in the public health system, as well as issues relating to wastage and inefficiencies, and will include:
- The structure of the NSW Health system and how it compares to other jurisdictions.
- The oversight and accountability structures for decision making, including financial decision-making in NSW Health, including the policies and framework under which decisions are made and assessed.
- The ways in which wastage and inefficiencies in the system are identified, assessed and addressed.
The Inquiry invites members of the public to actively participate by live streaming the hearings, providing an opportunity to stay informed and engaged. Live streaming links will be available on the website.
The Inquiry will deliver the final report to the Governor on or before 26 March 2025.
