Healthcare Funding Inquiry closing hearings begin Wednesday 26 February 2025

The Special Commission of Inquiry into Healthcare Funding will hold its final public hearings from Wednesday 26 to Friday 28 February 2025 at the Chief Secretary’s Building, Level 2, 121 Macquarie Street, Sydney.



The Special Commission of Inquiry into Healthcare Funding will hold its final public hearings from Wednesday 26 to Friday 28 February 2025 at the Chief Secretary’s Building, Level 2, 121 Macquarie Street, Sydney. The hearings will be livestreamed on the homepage of the Inquiry’s website.

The Inquiry will hear evidence from the Secretary of NSW Health, Susan Pearce AM and other senior NSW Health officials. This will be an opportunity for NSW Health officials to present their views on key themes that have emerged in the evidence to the Inquiry, including but not limited to:

  • More centralised planning, particularly of service delivery and workforce distribution
  • A more proactive approach to public health, preventative health and primary care
  • Greater funding transparency
  • A more collaborative approach with First Nations organisations

The Inquiry will also hear submissions in response to the Outline of Submissions of Counsel Assisting, from NSW Health and other invited key parties, before Commissioner Richard Beasley SC formally closes the public hearing component of the Inquiry.

The Inquiry invites members of the public to actively participate by live streaming the hearings.
