Inquiry into healthcare funding welcomes extension

The Special Commission of Inquiry into Healthcare Funding welcomes the decision by the New South Wales Government to extend the Inquiry.

The report to Her Excellency the Governor, previously due by 24 August 2024, will now be delivered on or before 26 March 2025.

Public hearings recommenced this week. This block of hearings is focussing on procurement practices and innovative models of care, with various NSW Health senior executives appearing as witnesses. The hearings are being livestreamed on the homepage of the Inquiry’s website.

The Commissioner has a keen interest in the healthcare needs of regional NSW communities. In March the Inquiry will hold its first regional hearings, in Wagga Wagga, with hearings in other regional locations to follow throughout 2024.
